Human Growth Hormone (HGH): Use it or Abuse It.

HGH Abuse by Athletes

Right there, I expect to get some bitter comments about how HGH should never be used, that it has been abused by athletes blah, blah, blah. The fact is athletes do abuse it. They take a hundred times more HGH than your body needs. That’s what gives them their bulked up look. And they pay for it. Our bodies were not designed for these mega doses of HGH. They were not designed for mega doses of anything. The key of course is moderation in all things. But our society has a penchant for going overboard. If something is good in small amounts, why then, it must be good in humongous doses. Not so. Not so.

HGH diminishes as we age

Our bodies produce Human Growth Hormone as a matter of course. It does much more than just allow us to grow. It also delays the aging process. HGH, along with Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1)  affects all your organs and tissues. Your mood, your cognitive functions, muscles, stronger bones. For those of you who have been reading my posts on hormones you will notice that all the hormones appear to have similar functions. Yes, they work in tandem with each other. That’s why it’s important to have a balance of all your hormones. Focusing on one to the exclusion of others just won’t work. Our body is akin to a fine-tuned guitar. One string off and you sound dreadful.

HGH courses through your body mostly while you sleep but smaller quantities are discharged during the day. HGH flows from the pituitary gland, which in turn takes its orders from the hypothalamus. HGH production starts to decrease by the time we enter our thirties and by the time we hit our mid-40s it is essentially gone.  That of course is when you notice that your memory is going, knees are creaking, sleep is hard to come by and skin starts wrinkling: all the stages leading to aging.

Arrest Old Age With BHRT

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) includes the use of Human Growth Hormone in the amounts that keep you healthy and arrest the deficiencies of old age. Of course, as stated previously all bioidentical hormone replacement therapy must be done under the guidance of a qualified doctor. Not just any doc but one versed in hormones.
